General Information

School Hours

School begins at 8:00 and ends at 3:00. Students can begin to enter the building at 7:15. After 8:00 a child is considered tardy and must be signed in at the office.

Medications

The school nurse will administer all medications. This includes Tylenol, Robitussen, Neosporin, etc. If your child has a prescription to take, please speak with her to ensure your child is able to receive their medication. PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY TYPE OF MEDICATION IN YOUR CHILD’S BOOKBAG. THIS INCLUDES SORE THROAT POPS, COUGH DROPS, ETC. I am not allowed to administer medication to your child.

Breakfast and Lunch

To receive breakfast, students must be in school by 7:45. Food must be consumed in the cafeteria.

Lunch is served in the cafeteria. Children are offered various selections of main courses and flavors of milk. You may prepay for lunches in the cafeteria or on their website, www.myschoolbucks.com . If you send money daily with your child, please put it in an envelope or baggy and labell it with your child’s name and “lunch money”.

Your child may bring in a lunch box but please do not send in soda. Also, if you eat with your child, do not bring in food from outside vendors.

Snacks and Birthdays
Our class has a daily snack time. Please send in an individual snack for your child. Please make sure this is a healthy snack such as goldfish crackers, granola bar, cheerio’s, etc. Label your child’s snack with their name and please keep it separate from lunch boxes. Thank you!

Yay for birthdays!!! Cupcakes or cookies may be brought in as a special treat on your child’s birthday. If the birthday is on a weekend or a holiday when we are out of school, feel free to send in a special treat the Friday or Monday before/after their special day!

School visits

When visiting the school, you must have a visitor sticker. If you do not have one, I am required to redirect you to the office. Visitors can really throw off the teaching/learning experience. If you would like to volunteer in the classroom, please schedule a volunteer day and time in advance so I can notify the office. Thank you for understanding!

Behavior Policy
I believe it is important to maintain a positive classroom atmosphere where children feel safe and secure. Students are expected to exhibit self discipline so that both teaching and learning are possible.

I have a set of rules in place and I review the rules daily as a class. Leader bucks are given or taken depending on the type of behavior chosen.
